Lambda Reed started in 2009 with a simple observation: travel agencies had become impersonal. Everything was about volume, commissions, and pushing whatever destination paid the most that month.
Our founders, Rebecca and Thomas, had spent a decade working for large travel companies. They knew the industry inside out but grew frustrated watching clients get steered toward holidays that did not suit them.
So they did something about it. They opened a small office on Briggate with one goal: treat every client the way they would want to be treated when planning their own holidays.
We believe that every person who walks through our door deserves a holiday tailored specifically to them. Not a package pulled off a shelf, not a destination chosen because it happens to be on promotion.
When you tell us you want a beach holiday, we ask questions. Do you want complete relaxation or water sports? Fine dining or local street food? Adults-only serenity or family-friendly activities? The answers shape everything we recommend.
This approach takes more time, but it results in trips that actually deliver what people hoped for when they first started dreaming about getting away.
Every member of our team travels extensively. When we recommend a hotel or excursion, there is a good chance one of us has actually stayed there or done it.
We will tell you if we think a destination is not right for you, even if it means a smaller sale. Your satisfaction matters more than any single booking.
